Missed Your Favourite Morning Show? Catch Up With The AFRadio App.
If you have a favourite morning show like Citi Breakfast Show or The SuperMorning Show on JoyFm you know how devastating it can be to miss Bernard Avle’s matter-of-fact, witty and intelligent style of interviewing our leaders. Possibly you had to run an errand and your phone battery was on low which prevented you from even using the radio app on your phone to tune in. Crushed! But never say never! The AFRadio App is here to give you the complete playback of your favourite morning show!
AFRadio is a Ghanaian app developed by Alt Technologies LTD. I found it simple and easy to get around as any radio app should be. The app lets you know which major radio shows are on air and which are off air. The off air shows are available for playback and scrolling through reveals quite a lengthy number of sessions for you to go back to. How far back does it go, I can’t tell.
The live-streaming of the major shows on AFRadio is smoother and more reliable without irksome breaks during transmission like other radio apps.
The app gives you a list of your favourite playback shows ( shows you frequently playback on) which you can delete after catching up. Unlike other radio apps which provide live-streaming of every radio program AFRadio selects only major shows such as morning shows, mid-day news, major lifestyle shows, after-work shows and major evening news programs.
I find it useful because I usually switch off after the Citi Breakfast Show (CitiCBS) and catch up with news at mid-day and then once in awhile catch up with Umaru Sanda on EyeWitnessNews. So this app simply gives me that flexibility of tuning in at any time to catch up on what I missed earlier. You can also rewind and forward through the show as with any regular audio app. You can also be out of the app and experience background audio or even when you lock your phone screen.
There are currently no ads running on the iOS version of the app but as to how long it will remain ad-free time will tell. The Android version displays ads. If you have a Chromecast , you can’t cast the app to listen on louder speakers like I usually do on TuneIn Radio but I a little bird has confirmed that they are working on this feature.
AFRadio is available on both iOS and Android and free to download.
